Bring the Ice Pop Shop to your school.
A visit from Janna Dutton isn't just a reading — it's the day your students find out they could be entrepreneurs too.
What a visit includes
A lively reading from Ice Pop Shop, pitched to your students' grade — with all the voices.
A kidpreneur mini-workshop: students dream up their own stand — what would they sell, what would it cost, what would they do with the profit? The same skills from the book (budgeting, goal-setting, teamwork) put straight to work.
Q&A time — about the story, about writing a book, and about what it's really like to run a business.
Best suited to Grades 2–4, flexible for single classes or full assemblies. Pairs naturally with a class set and the free lesson plans, so the visit lands in the middle of a unit — not out of nowhere.
In person or virtual
In person: based in Saskatoon, available to schools across Saskatchewan and beyond.
Virtual: a live video visit that works for any school in Canada — same reading, same workshop energy, no travel budget needed.
Author visits are a paid program. Rates depend on the format, the number of sessions, and travel — and every school's budget is different, so rather than a fixed price list, send a request and we'll reply with a quote and options that fit. The form takes about a minute.
Request a booking
Tell us about your school and your preferred dates, and we'll reply within a couple of days with a quote and options. No obligation — a request just starts the conversation.
